Everyone is welcome to form a team and participate in this fun event!!

 

Format: 3-v-3 matches; 10 minutes each; elimination rounds

- Depending on the amount of teams the tournament style will be either World Cup group play or a basic double elimination will take place

 

This is a great opportunity to have some fun, get some exercise, and learn something new about a country you have maybe never heard about before.

 

Each team will represent an African country, so get out your creativity hats and start thinking of how you want to represent yourself. 

    Ideas:

          - Paint your country's flag on jerseys

          - Enlist a fanclub to cheer on the sidelines with posters

          - Bandanas representing country colors

          - Informative poster to share a little bit about your country with those on the sidelines

          - Make a traditional dish to hand out to your fans (gaurentees plenty of support from the sidelines ;) )

          - Get creative! Use your imagination!

 

Prize will be rewarded to the most innovative team representation and the most informative! 

 

Team Requirements:

Minimum of 3 participants, maximum of 6 per team

 

Registration Fee: $10 charged to student account

 

Proceeds will be donated to Grass Roots Soccer (GRS), an international nonprofit that uses the power of soccer to provide HIV/AIDS education to youth in various African countries like South Africa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
